Good ole wings; you can’t go wrong with trying this recipe.

Buffalo Wings

Ever wondered where the Buffalo wings did got its name? Well it was named after the place where it was created, Buffalo, New York. Usually called buffalo wing, buffalo chicken wing or hot wing this delicious chicken pieces are deep-fried and coated in a vinegar-based cayenne pepper hot sauce and butter usually served with celery sticks and creamy blue cheese dip.

This dish has a very confusing history as there are three popular stories that explains its invention in 1964, though all of the stories have the same place of origin (Anchor Bar), the stories were different. The first claim (also considered as the official story), states that it is attributed to Teressa Bellisimo the wife of the Anchor bar owner Frank Bellisimo. It is said that it was created as an easy to prepare snack for his son’s friends when one time they came home late and…

Apple Cider Braised Pork

Another great recipe that seems to delicious to pass up.

Apple Cider Braised Pork

Now let’s talk about Kiwi food, the first time I set foot here in New Zealand like any other migrant or tourist one of the first questions you will be asking is what are the best traditional Kiwi food items or recipes out there and where will I get them? To my surprise most of the ones I asked did not know what to answer or they had answered “Nothing really, I think the closest one would be savoury pies”, that surprised me a lot as I lived and visited in different South East Asian countries and when I asked that question, it will be an endless conversation or even argument to those people I presented the question with on which is the best dish for them to let me try.

As I stayed longer I started to see some really dishes unique to New Zealand which I guess people…

P.F. Chang’s Chicken Lettuce Wraps

P.F. Chang’s Lettuce Chicken Wraps sure look good, light and easy to make for the summer

The Domestic Man

Last September we met up with our friends Matt and Stacy, the Paleo Parents, for dinner at P.F. Chang’s China Bistro, a popular Asian-themed chain restuarant here in the U.S. that sports a gluten-free menu. It was our first time visiting the restaurant, and Stacy strongly recommended (demanded?) that I try to re-create their famous Chicken Lettuce Wraps. Never one to turn a challenge down, I accepted, and then promptly forgot all about it.

But lucky for you, Stacy didn’t forget the promise I made that fateful day. In fact, she did one better, and corralled a bunch of Paleo-friendly bloggers together this week to re-create some favorite dishes from the restaurant chain. Here is a link to the round-up.

For my version I made a few minor adjustments. I used honey instead of what I assume is gobs of sugar (we taste-tested the original dish again last week…

Food at Mopars in the Park Car Annual Car Show

A great time was had at the Mopars in the Park annual car show in Farmington Minnesota. There were various food vendors on site, which provided tasty choices. The fresh cut French fries were a hit; they were crispy and golden brown. The pork chop burger was served on a bun with a grilled pork chop freshly taken off the grill. It was moist and succulent with great grilled flavor. The Caramel Swirl and Peanut Butter Camp Fire Crunch in a waffle cone was phenomenal on the sunny but not too hot day. For ten dollars per person, which gets you parked and in the fair grounds, you can enjoy a day filled with a plethora of cars, parts, music and food. This is truly an event that can be enjoyed by the whole family for a reasonable price.
